There is a 3-day stay limit for all non-resident guests.
If a unique situation exists in which a guest will need to stay longer than three (3) days, the resident will need to seek approval for the guest by filling out an Extended Stay Guest Application at the RSO. The form requires the resident to disclose the length of stay requested for the guest and the reason for the extended stay.
“Continual” guests---at the discretion of International Village---are not permitted and may result in the exclusion of the guest from the property or the resident’s eviction.
Residents are responsible for the actions and disciplinary violations of their guest(s) at all times, both inside of buildings and in surrounding outdoor areas of International Village.
If you have a roommate, please be courteous and discuss your plans with him/her prior to the arrival of visitors. It would be helpful for the two of you to sit down at the beginning of your “relationship” to define your own apartment “policy” as concerns visitors. When are appropriate times for visitors? How many? How often? How will noise and other issues of privacy and mutual respect be confronted? Avoidance of these issues initially often leads to unnecessarily convoluted challenges later.
Please see “Parking” under FACILITIES AND SERVICES for guest parking information.
KEYS/DOOR LOCKS
Each International Village resident will be issued a total of three (3) keys: one card key which will allow access to the entrance of their apartment and your building’s main entrances, one key for your bedroom, and one mailbox key. Only one “set” of keys will be issued for each contracted resident.
The card key for your apartment and the building and your bedroom key will be issued to you on your move-in date upon verification of payment of your first month’s rent at the RSO.
Your mailbox key will be issued to you upon completion of your Move-In Inspection with a International Village staff member. Upon move-in, residents are asked to schedule their Move-In Inspection for completion within five (5) business days.
Always lock your door when you depart regardless of the length of time that you intend to be gone. Always carry your keys with you in order to avoid such accidents as lock-outs.
Your apartment and bedroom doors are equipped with locks of extremely high quality in order to help ensure your security and peace of mind. Upon move-in, your apartment and bedroom entry doors should close without undue force and the locks should perform likewise. If there is a discrepancy in either of these areas, please submit a Service Request to the Front Office immediately.
Always lock your door when you depart regardless of the length of time that you intend to be gone. Always carry your keys with you in order to avoid such accidents as lock-outs.
Please report lost keys to the RSO or RA after hours immediately. If you have misplaced your key(s) or locked yourself out of your apartment, a loaner key may be issued to you upon personal identification for a maximum period of 24 hours. After 24 hours, International Village must necessarily assume the missing key(s) is lost and that the security of your apartment has been jeopardized---NO EXCEPTIONS. The resident will be responsible for the cost to replace keys and/or locks, as required. Key charges are assessed as follows:
• Replacement of each card key $25.00
• Replacement of bedroom key and/or lock $25.00
• Replacement of mailbox key and/or lock: $25.00
Roommates will receive new keys without a charge to them. “Repeated” lock-outs (i.e. more than 2 per quarter) will result in a $5.00 charge for each additional lock-out during the quarter.
Residents are not permitted to install additional locking and/or security devices (e.g. slide bolts, chain locks, audible or inaudible alarms, etc.) of any type on apartment entry doors or bedroom doors. These devices prevent access by International Village staff in the event of an emergency, as well as often serving to give a false sense of security. If unauthorized locking and/or security devices are discovered in an apartment at any time during residency, residents will be notified of the immediate intent of our staff to take corrective measures at the expense of the resident (i.e. labor and materials).
Please avoid propping International Village facility doors (e.g. laundry room, pool area) or perimeter gates open with rocks, self-installed doorstops, or other items. This serves to compromise the security of the facility (i.e. makes the complex more susceptible to crimes of vandalism and theft), as well as the safety of other residents.
If you have a security concern, please contact a International Village staff member as soon as possible. Your safety and security are our highest priority.
